I need advice...

Everyone can read this blog except Lyndsey. ( Sorry Lyndsey, I just am going to talk about pooping and don't want to discourage you.)

So Jae has continued to show interest in pooping and peeing on the potty. Which kind of puts me in a funny spot. He is only 19 months old. But I don't want to smash his desires. So what do I do. Should I get out our little potty and let him try, or am I being silly, and just stop putting him on the pot. He likes to sit on it every time that he gets his diaper changed. He poops and pees a couple of times a week. So anyways, I'm torn. Please help. What do I do.

I don't want another potty training experience like we did with Boston, so I'm hesitant. But I cant help to think, if he gets potty trained, NO MORE DIAPERS!!

So help me out and let me know what you think...

Funny Boys

Finally out!
"My butt is to big"

He could walk with the chair on, just couldn't get out.

What ever!

I thought that I would just blog about the boys being boys.
We were at the Gunn's and getting ready to leave, so I yell up to Boston " Its time to go", he yells back, "I can't, I'm stuck." I went up to check on him and started laughing because he really was stuck. He told me that his butt was to big. He was stuck in the chair. I try ed to get him out, but couldn't and so I told Boston that I would go get dad. He was mad and told me that "Dad won't know what to do." Ben of course grabbed the camera and shot a few pictures before he got him out. I don't know how long he had been stuck, my guess awhile. It was pretty funny.
During dinner, Ben and I were talking and Jae starts rolling his eyes at us. He now does it on demand if we tell him to. Probably not something that we should encourage, but it is so funny. I love our boys.

Dark Sunday

We got up for church today and for some reason I could not decide what to wear. I just kept thinking I wanted to wear something warm. So I get us all ready and we head out to worship. We get to church and I look into the primary room and think that they must be doing some kind of object lesson because there are no lights on, as we round the corner, I notice there are no lights on anywhere. We get into the chapel and sit down, and we are informed that there is no power and wont be until 5:30. We are just going to have sacrament and then everyone is going home. I have to tell you, it was kind of nice to have all the lights out. I really tried to listen to the talks and really felt the Spirit. I was very awesome. I worried a little bit about the boys being cold, but with the giant ward we have every one's body heat was fine, (and I was inspired to take a coat, so I was good to) We had power at home all day and so we just got out of church early. I told Ben on the way home that it was kind of perfect that the lights were out and would have went right along with my lesson. Funny how things like that happen. One of the speakers told how she thought that Satan was trying to make it so she wouldn't give her talk because she wrote it, and left the computer for a minute and someone deleted it, then she got a cold, and we had no power so only the first few rows could hear her. The final speaker said something to the same effect about his talk. I think that is why I listened so hard, I wanted to make sure I hear what ever it was that Satan didn't want to have us hear. It was just a very spitual day and was glad that I was there.

My Birthday Week-end

I was really excited for my birthday this year because I finally feel like I am old enough to have two kids. Most the time I feel like I am 21. Ben said that we could go skiing or go shopping, so I decided on shopping, just because I had my eye on a pair of shoes, and was excited to have Ben buy them for me. We went to dinner on Friday night, we took Erik along because Craig and Keri were out of town. It was so good, I love Barbecue. Then we headed to the mall, and then to target. I love just wandering around and seeing whats new and exciting. I'm really into the "hat thing" recently and found a few cute ones at the mall. I got my shoes that I have been wanting to. On Saturday we headed to the outlets in Park City, and found Boston some new ski pants at the Columbia outlet. I truly recommend it, if you haven't been there already. We headed home to meet up with some friends. Lincoln was a personal trainer and Ben set it up to have him show me some work out tips. (something else I have been wanting) after a work out at the gym and some yummy Crown burger, we went to the Gateway. It was pretty much the best birthday week-end. I got everything I wanted and spend a good portion of the week-end shopping, and Ben didn't complain once, thanks Babe. I cant believe that I am so close to 30. I still don't feel that old, maybe 25.

Pooping

I thought that Jae was poopy and so I went to change him to find out that he was only wet. He was grunting and I knew that he had to poop, so I asked him if he wanted to go on the potty. He started to run for the bathroom, so I put him on and he started to pee and then he pooped. He was a little nervous but Boston came running in and starting cheering for him, and he got all excited. Boston grabbed the camera and we caught a few precious moments. Sorry Jae, this will totally embarrass you later in life. But I'm so proud of you.

Sunday Dinners

Boston and Emma listening to Uncle Erik

Cute Lucy. Boston loves her so much, he tells me all the time.

Playing World Tour. " YOU ROCK"

Jae's cute hat

This week-end Ben went skiing with his buddies and left me home again by myself. I decided that I wanted to do something fun, but with a baby Jae it is hard to go do something that Boston and I would both like. So I called my brother Judd and suggested that we hang out. They live in Heber City and it just so happens that you have to drive by the outlets on the way to their house. So we met in Park City to do a little shopping and I just could not resist buying this hat for him.

After some supper yummy dinner at a cafe that they like, we headed to the Kamas swimming pool. Once we got there I started to rethink my idea of going swimming with a hyperactive three year old and a Mommy's boy 18 month old. But we got ready and got Boston in a life jacket, and we were set. Boston was ready to do it all by himself. He went down the water slide and even was going to jump off the diving board, until the life guard told him he couldn't jump with a life jacket on. He was so brave and loved being so independent. Thanks Judd and Amy for hanging out with us. We love you

Bens so excited

I keep having people ask me what Ben is so excited about, in his picture. He got a wireless playstation controller. Silly huh? He already has one, but I think that he was thinking that I would play with him now. I still don't.

296 Pictures

I think that I took close to 300 pictures between Christmas Eve and New Years, but I will not post them all. Ben did a good job of getting the story straight, but just a few funny things and a few of my favorite things.

Jaegan was pretty funny on Christmas morning. He is not much of a morning person, ( he takes after his mommy) so on Christmas morning he would just kick his presents and look grumpy, but the evening he was more into opening his stuff.
I loved playing BINGO Christmas Eve, it was fun for the little kids to.
I cant think of any more right now, but I will. Stay tuned for more posts.

Post-Holiday Reality Check

I started my first week back without motivation of a day off in almost 3 weeks. Before I get to that, though, let me go back and see what I can recall with Christmas and New Years.

Christmas was a blast as always. We spent a portion of Christmas-Eve at Jenny's family's home, had a great dinner and enjoyed each other's company in preparations for the evening. We decided to head home so we could put the kids to bed around 8:00, but both of them were fast asleep before we even got home. I had my traditional "Muppet Christmas Carol" showing without the boys before heading to bed myself. Even at 28, I still can't make it past about 5:00 on Christmas morning in anticipation of the big morning. Even when I pretty much know what's coming, it's still exciting. This Christmas, no one else shared my enthusiasm, so I laid in bed awake until about 6:00 until Jae started crying in his bed. I let him cry long enought to wake Jenny up and played it off like I was asleep the whole time, a good move if I do say so myself.

The boys had a great Christmas. They both got way too much crap (which led to the majority of our activities between Christmas and New Year: Filling every nook and cranny of our house with new crap!). We found out that Jaegan would have been entirely content with a roll of wrapping paper and some tissue. He spent some time rolling around in our present fodder and thoroughly enjoyed himself. It was pretty funny. Boston would want to open everything and play with it right away, so he probably would have been great getting one thing. He got mad at us a couple of times when we told him that he had more presents under the tree and couldn't play with whatever it was he just openend. After about an hour of straight present ripping, we had a little time to play before heading over to my parents house for my dad's traditional Christmas Crepes breakfast! It was all I look forward to all year and more! We spent most of the remainder of the day at Jenny's parent's home opening the last of our presents and visiting with family there. Ted and Karen had prepared a Christmas feast with probably close to 40 family and friends. It was a lot of fun and the boys loved playing with their cousins.

The days following are a blur in my mind. I took Christmas Eve, Christmas and the day after off, so I had 5 straight days of no work. My dad took us skiing on the Saturday after Christmas and it was frigging cold. I don't think my core body temperature had returned to normal yet, nearly two weeks later. The snow was pretty good, though.

The next week was another short week as I worked on New Year's Eve, but took New Year's Day and Friday off. We spend New Year's Eve with Matt and Sarah at their home, most of the time playing Guitar Hero World Tour and eating Sarah's Cafe Rio rip-off Sweet Pork Burritos. It was a good night. Boston stayed up the whole time and we're still paying for it!

Of course, it was great to watch the Utes win, even for a BYU fan. You can't take anything away from what they were able to do this year. It was a great game and, hopefully, will help solidify what the top teams of the MWC are made of!

That pretty much leads us back to today. I'm sure that Jenny will have much more detail to share on the past couple of weeks, but for me, I'm refocused on work and getting my life back to normal. More than once, I heard this time referred to as "Re-Boarding." I thought it was funny, but it's a true statement. It's a little hard to go back to work when you've been looking forward to something for months and now it's past. The days worked out well that I got a fair amount of time off over the New Year, but it's also good to get back into the swing of things with work and normal life.

I keep having to tell Boston that Christmas isn't coming again until next year. As much as I'd love to have Christmas every day, it would lose it's magic if it came every day, once a week, even once a month. The tradition, the spirit, the magic of Christmas should only come once a year. That's what I love about it. That's what makes it special.
