I hate blogging with no pictures but Ben and I forgot our camera, and so I am counting on others to send me pictures of our camping trip.
For the last couple of years we have been lucky enough to be asked to go camping with Ben's aunt Amy and her friends and their families to Moab. I love to camp and I think Ben thinks it is okay. I have great memories growing up camping and want my boys to enjoy it to. So for UEA week-end we headed off to Moab. We got started off to an interesting start. We decided to meet up with Adam and Jami and Matt and Sarah in the K-Mart parking lot and caravan down together. Ben and I had stopped and got doughnuts before hand, and while waiting in the parking lot for everyone to be ready to go, we met some very nice folks who were headed to the U for the Special Olympics. We offered them some of our doughnuts and started chatting. They were so funny. No one who take a doughnut but one guy, then he would take it back to the group and they would send him back for more. We gave most of out doughnuts away, and as we were pulling out. Literally, we were backing up. Someone knocked on our window and asked for the rest. It was so funny. We just cracked up. Also they wanted napkins, which we had none, so we ended up giving out baby wipes. They were really sweet, they kept telling us to be careful around the river and watch our kids.
So we make it to Moab just fine and it was so hot. We were having so much fun and decided to jump off some rocks into the river. Now let me just tell you, I had been having anxiety over the river. There is a current and I was so nervous that the boys would somehow fall in. The water is brown and so I knew that there would be no way of finding them. So Im kind of a freak, I know. Anyways, so Ben and I decided to jump in with everyone else. It was freezing, but felt so good. We tried to talk Boston into it, but he didn't want to. Did I mention, we didn't take clothes to jump in, so we did it in our clothes. ( and on a personal note, I had only taken one bra, and jumped in with it on.Not a good idea). I loved just hanging out, and then when it gets cold, to hang out around the fire in our sweats. The boys did great sleeping in the tent, and stayed plenty warm. The next day we hiked up to Corona Arch and had a little adventure up a old river bed. We played a game on the way back with the boys, that who ever was in back was the "gun taker". ( they had all found wooden guns). I have never seen Jae move so fast, he was freaking out, toward the end, he made Ben pick him up and run the rest of the way with him. It was one of the funnest things I have seen. We had a blast. When we got back to camp it was pretty hot and so we decided to jump in the river again. Boston said that he would jump with us and Jae even said that he wanted to. I got nervous to jump with Boston, so he jumped with my brother in law Matt, and Jae jumped in with Ben. They liked it, but did not want to do it again. It was to cold for them. I laughed thinking back on it, because of all the anxiety I had had over them being near the river, and then we ended up jumping in with them. All in all, we had such a great week-end. It was nice to have Ben not have to do any homework, and just have a week-end together. Even thought he had to play catch up when we got home.
Sorry this is so long and boring, but I kind of use my blog as my journal, and this is one trip I want to remember.
Oh yeah, and we went and saw dinosaur tracks!
