Dear Uncle Derrek

Yesterday was such a sad day. Derrek passed away. Ben and I were so glad that we were able to be there, and express our feelings for him before he passed away. We have loved having Derrek and Randee in our lives. We will miss him so much. I'm so glad that we have the knowledge of eternal families. We will see each other again, and it will be such a sweet day. Remember Karen and the kids in your prayers.
We love you more than you will ever know Derrek.

?

Has anyone seen this handsome guy?

He has been so busy lately that I feel that we have not seen him. He is such an amazing guy to do all the things that he does for us. With working full time, school at nights, with study groups and homework. Being Elders Quorum President and just being a husband and father, he is a busy man. I have been making him get up early with me to work out, just to have a little bit of time together. Thanks babe, for all you do. We love you. Hopefully this class will go fast and you wont have to be gone so much.

The power of the Apron

Boston liked it, he was just mad about something
I got this cute apron for Christmas, even though I'm not much of a cook, when I put it on, I was inspired. I had been craving my Grandma Lola's chicken noodle soup, so I decided to give it a shot. I didn't know how to make chicken noodle soup in general, so I found a recipe in the Wright family cookbook by my Aunt Kathy and so I combined my Grandma Lola's noodles and Kathy's soup. I have to say it was so awesome. I literally cried when I eat it because it brought back such great memories. My whole family loved it. I will be making it again for sure.

What the Heck!

So today we had to run to the bank. While at the bank Jae said that he wanted a sucker. I told him they didn't have any, and quickly drove across the street to the other bank. Now this bank always gives treats, and so Jae was watching for one. We finished our business and headed home. About 10 minutes later I looked back just to see if he was asleep, and this is how he was. I don't know if he was mad that the first bank didn't have suckers, or if he saw me put the suckers the 2nd bank gave us in my purse. Either way he was mad and grumpy. I don't know how long he had been like this, but it was so cute I had to pull over and take a picture. Boston noticed and asked what the matter was and in some possessed voice he told us "nothing". After I took his picture he smiled and then went back to his pouty position and stayed like that all the way home. Some day this wont be so cute, but ill take it for today.
( I wish oyu could really see how grumpy his face was)

CTR 4C

I cant believe that this little guy is no longer little. With the new year came new classes at church. My little Boston is no longer a Sunbeam. Ii had totally spaces this fact until we were walking into church and saw the new class list. I about cried right there. I kind of want Boston to stop growing now. I didn't think I would be "one of those moms", but I am. Boston has always had a little trouble going to primary, ever since they split our ward, and his best friend are not in our ward anymore. I wondered how he would do. I walked him in and found him class. CTR 4C. ( He loves to say it) It was so far back from the sunbeams, I thought that we had the wrong class, but nope. He really sits that close to the back of the primary room. I love Boston, I love that he is such a helper and growing up. I am excited for him to learn and grow, but honestly, can it just slow down a little.
Jaegan also had a new class. He was a little nervous about going as well, but then realized that he is now in the nursery room with the little potty and I'm sure we are going to be great. I love that they don't have to come get me to take him potty anymore. We are all excited to see what this year holds.

Dont be fooled by that face.

We have had some busy times in our lives, but this past two weeks, just seems to take the cake. My mom and little brother JD came down from Washington the Saturday before Christmas, and brought two friends along. We spent every waking moment with them, catching up on news, going to see the lights and trying to make it as fun as possible for JD's friends. We hooked up with Judd and Amy one night for a bouncing good time at Jump On It. It is a warehouse full of trampolines. It was so fun, once we got there, it was a 1 1/2hour drive to the place, on snowy, icy roads. But once we were there, it was a blast. Jae and Boston loved jumping around. I loved it to,but realized that I am getting old, after about 1/2 hour, my back hurt, and I had hurt myself about 3 times. After we pealed the kids out of there, we had a late night dinner and then headed home. Then the partied started, the Annual Poll Family party, I remember this party as a kid, going on Christmas Eve and playing BINGO and dancing. It was so awesome. Ben and I started going when we got married, and have made it a Gunn family tradition now. Christmas Eve was at the Gunns, where we all got our jammies and then headed home. We had a Wright family party in there also, it was so cute. Karen and Crystal had put together the story of Jesus' birth, and the kids put it on. It was priceless. Needless to say, we have been so busy. But we had a great Christmas.
Yesterday Ben's little brother got married. It was so nice. We got to the temple a little bit later than we were suppost to and nearly gave Ben's parents and family a heart attack.( Sorry guys, didn't mean to add stress to the day. ) It is always so nice to see young people make that decision to be sealed in the Temple. It snowed all day and I think it just made it that much more beautiful. The temple had a pipe burst, so part of the temple was flooded and we had to do all pictures outside, so we froze. But it was so fun. At the reception, we all had to get dressed up, I love to see Ben in a tux. He looked so handsome. We have one more family wedding reception tomorrow, and then hopefully back to normal bedtimes, and a clean house and I will get over this laringitis. I have been so bad at taking my camera places lately. So Ill just post what I have. Hope everyone has a safe and fun New Year.

Sooo long Sippy

This cute kid, and this awesome sippy have been very good friends for awhile now. I'm sure that if I took the time to look through some of our pictures, I would find plenty that are of Jae holding this particular sippy. Every time he asks for a drink, he asks for it in the "soccer". I have to tell him that it is dirty sometimes, just to make sure that it gets washed on occasion. Now I know that Jaegan is 2 1/2 and should not be attached to a cup like this. But he loves it and I'm a softy. So this past week, I have noticed that it has started to leak. I opened it up to make sure that the bright purple stopper was in there, and it was. It was just in the bottom of the cup. So my conclusion is, that is getting old, and worn out. The stopper is no longer doing its job.n I'm not really sure how I am going to get rid of it. Jae is going to be so upset. Santa may have to hunt for the next 9 days for the same cup. Hopefully leaving it in his stocking.

The Season has finally arrived

He loves to shovel

I have had the hardest time getting into the Christmas holiday this year. But yesterday I made sugar cookies and we had some friends over to help decorate them. It was a lot fun, and it finally started to feel like Christmas. Then today we woke up to snow.. I love the snow. So Boston and I went to Wal-mart and bought a snow shovel and we shoveled the drive way and down our side walk. I kept trying to take the shovel away from Boston, to make it go a little faster, but he would not let me. He told me he was helping our neighbors. He is so cute. Growing up. After about an hour we finally got done, and he still was ready to go do every ones drive ways. Maybe if Ben helps him he can do the whole neighborhood.

Decking the Halls

Finally on Monday we decided to get out the Christmas decorations. I had the whole night planned in my head, we would bake cookies, have egg nog, listen to Christmas music and have the fire place on. ( well our fireplace DVD) We had so much fun. Ben got started on the tree and after about 4 hours, we had the lights on and looking good. Boston could not wait to put the topper on, so it was the first thing to go on. The boys were so good, to not touch the train. They love it. We were alittle worried that Gracie, the little girl that I watch, would be in the tree all the time, but so far so good. Everyone has been really good about leaving it all alone. Except the button to turn the lights on. They love to push it. Our lights are always on, which is fine with me. I love the holiday season.

Thanksgiving week-end

We had such a great Thanksgiving week-end. We ate dinner at my dad's house and it was delis. I was so proud of myself for remembering the camera, but once dinner started I was so excited that I forgot to take any pictures. We then made plans to go shopping in the morning, and then last minute decided not to. We were kind of sad that we didn't, but I'm sure we save ourselves a ton of money. Our week-end did not stop there, on Saturday we went to Baylor's baptism and then straight to the Gunn's for Ali's bridal shower. I think we did a great job putting it together, and we have awesome food. Erik had a lunch break and ended up coming over and being with Ali. We are really excited for Ali to be apart of our family. We think that she is so awesome, and so good for Erik.
