Home Again...

Jenny and I spent our Friday evening packing up a POD with all of our stuff. We've moved in with my folks for the next couple of weeks until our townhome is finished. If you aren't familiar with the POD concept, they drop off a container at your house, you load it all up, they pick it up and store it for you until you are ready to move in. Then you call them, they drop it off at your new place and, voila, you're all moved. We will be spending the better part of next week cleaning up our apartment so our landlords have no excuse to deny us our deposit. We brought our beds and clothes and a few other essentials with us to my parent's where we'll spend the next few weeks. I owe a gigantic thanks to Matt, Adam and my dad for helping out Friday night. The roll-top desk would have been a permanent fixture in the apartment without them.

The new job is going well. There is a lot to do. I am helping with getting one of the clinics started from ground up. Another office lost its entire staff a couple of weeks before I started, so I am working on filling up the positions there. We are looking to expand the other office next year. Our budgets for next year will be due in the next few months, so there is a lot to keep me busy in addition to figuring out the ins and outs of Intermountain.

For the benefit of Sean, I will elaborate a little on my review of Iron Man. As I was walking out, I commented to Jenny that it had the feel of the original Batman with Michael Keaton. You wouldn't expect Robert Downey Jr. to be a good superhero, but he plays the role perfectly. Gweneth Paltrow is good as well, but the real suprise performance comes from Jeff Bridges in a role that is completely opposite anything he's done before. There is a great mix of action and comedy and I didn't feel the effects distracted at all from the story. This will be a movie that I will buy and watch again and again. For your reference, other movies like that for me are Batman Begins, Transformers, and the Bourne series to name a few.

I am really looking forward to a day off tomorrow. I played only my second round of golf yesterday and found I have a long way to go to get up to speed. We are playing again tomorrow and hopefully it will be better than yesterday.
